Staying with kids in Madrid
Finding a place to stay with children in Madrid can be challenging as many of the hotels have tiny rooms. I always prefer a kitchenette when travelling with the kids. Below are some suites with kitchenettes in Madrid.
ApartoSuites Jardines de Sabatini
This hotel is situated close to the Royal palace and in walking distance to numerous theatres and museums.
Here is what a family said about this hotel:
"We stayed in a suite for 4 people. It was very comfortable and a good price. There was a separate bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom was comfortable and large. The kitchen was well-equipped and the two additional beds were well located in the room."
Where: Cuesta San Vincente 16, metro Principio Pio
Price Range: 90 - 130 Euros depending on the size of suite
This came very highly recommended by a frequent traveller who is very particular about what he wants when visiting a city. He recommended this particular place for its cleanliness and location in Madrid—right across the street from the Atocha train station, perfect for catching trains for day trips or any other location in Spain. The museums, Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen, are all within five or 10 minutes walking distance.
60 Balconies came with high marks as well because you are renting an apartment, not just a hotel room. It comes complete with a small well-equipped kitchen and even includes a washing machine. If you are going to be staying in Madrid for more than just a couple of nights this is an ideal setup. 60 Balconies is an on-line only rental. There is no check-in counter when you arrive—all the arrangements are made on-line in advance.
You can rent a studio suite, one or two-bedroom apartment. If you are travelling with a family this is one of the most reasonable options for accommodations in Madrid as in most hotels you have to pay per person.
Price range: 125-140 Euros/night depending on the size of apartment
